190SLs we evaluate

We consider every production year from 1955 through 1963 in original, restored and project condition.

  • Original survivors
  • High-quality restorations
  • Long-term ownership cars
  • Cars with removable hardtops
  • Non-running and long-stored examples
  • Incomplete restoration projects

What matters to value

Body and chassis condition, engine identity, factory color combination, hardtop, original trim, books, tools and restoration documentation can materially change where a 190SL sits in the market.

Rust and restoration quality matter

A glossy exterior does not tell the whole story. Structural corrosion, previous body repairs, panel fit and the quality of past restoration work are important on a 190SL.

Before spending money

A long-stored 190SL may need significant fuel, brake, cooling and mechanical work. Get an informed view of the car before commissioning restoration or recommissioning solely to prepare a sale.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Do you buy Mercedes-Benz 190SL projects?

Yes. We evaluate non-running, incomplete and disassembled 190SL projects as well as finished cars.

Do all 190SL years have the same value?

No. Condition, originality, specification, history and restoration quality matter, and early or final-year details can also influence collector interest.

Does the factory hardtop matter?

Completeness matters. A correct hardtop, original trim, tools, records and loose original parts should be kept with the car.
